Flying InformationRFC Field Height Restriction 400ft (~121m) AGL
The RFC flying field is within RAAF Williamtown radar controlled airspace and as such the RFC's CASA approval to operate a model flying field is strictly enforced 24/7. Excursions above 400ft may be reported by RAAF Williamtown to: - RFC Executive to investigate and respond; and/or - CASA to investigate. Note: special events may receive CASA approval to operate above 400ft AGL Commercial and Commercially Related Activities NOT Permitted The RFC flying field authority to operate permits conducting recreational model aircraft activities ONLY. The RFC flying field is not to be used at any time for conducting activities related to current or future commercial or commercially related activities, including equipment testing and test flights. Total Fire Bans Should a Total Fire Ban be in effect for the NSW Rural Fire Service Greater Hunter Area the flying field is CLOSED. To check current fire conditions click here. Hunter Wetlands National Park The flying field is located within a National Park and as such NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service rules apply. The Park's access status affects use of the flying field. Should the Park be CLOSED a sign is displayed below the Hunter Wetlands National Park sign situated on the left hand side of the road just after you cross the bridge onto the island. To check the Park's status click here. Note: The flying field is CLOSED when a Total Fire Ban is in effect even if the Park's access status is Open. Flying Times 7 days a week during daylight hours (night flying on approval only) except when the National Park is closed or a Total Fire Ban is in effect. Times must be strictly adhered to, or the Club risks having more restricted operating times imposed on it, or the total loss of the field to power models. |
